EG Weekend: EGAPL Holiday Bazaar, Comedy @ Odeum

Because of the Veterans Day holiday, Friday trash pickup will take place Saturday. Recycling is OFF; yard waste pickup is ON (yard waste is being picked up every other week). For the full 2014 pickup schedule, click here.

Saturday, Nov. 15

EG Animal Protection League Holiday Bazaar: All are invited to stop by and browse holiday decorations, baked goods, and pet items donated by Ocean State JobLot, including cat trees and dog beds. There will also be food, hot beverages, and silent auction items. EGAPL is a nonprofit, no-kill animal rescue and all proceeds from the bazaar directly benefit adoptable cats and dogs. At the Varnum Armory, 6 Main St. From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

North Kingstown Winter Market: This indoor farmers market is a great destination for a Saturday, to buy food and other local products and enjoy some music. At the Lafayette Mill, 650 Ten Rod Road, North Kingstown. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Comedian Jim Colliton @ Odeum: Jim Colliton, who has appeared on Ed McMahon’s “Next Big Star,” Comcast’s “Comedy Spotlight,” Comedy Central’s “Laugh Riots” and XM Satellite Radio’s Comedy Channel, will be at the Odeum Sat., Nov. 15, as part of its fall comedy series. In December, Ken Rogerson from this season’s “Last Comic Standing,” “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” and “The Late Show with David Letterman,” will be at the Odeum. Tickets for individual shows are $15 or buy all four for $40. Tickets for all the shows can be purchased online at www.TheOdeum.org or by calling the box office at (401) 885-4000. Tickets can also be purchased at Main Street Music, at 4 King St. from noon to 6 p.m. Mon-Fri.

Sunday, Nov. 16

EG Animal Protection League open house: Every Sunday, the EGAPL opens its doors so people can meet the dogs and cats in need of permanent homes. You can find videos of some of the animals available for adoption here. EG Animal Hospital, 4302 Post Road, Cowesett. 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
